A brazen intruder has been caught on video peering into a security camera in the yard of a Blind Bight home.

Police say it’s believed two to three people broke into a residential property on Fishermans Drive about 2.45pm on Tuesday 16 June.

A Victoria Police spokesman confirmed an aggravated burglary had occurred but declined to comment further, saying “that offenders have been identified”.

Security footage in the rear yard appeared to show a man in a black cap closely inspecting a security camera.

The footage also showed another man in a beanie looking at the camera while another man wandered around the rear yard.

Neighbour Bob O’Connell said police had flooded the scene shortly after the incident with police tape set up around the perimeter of the property.

He said up to five young men had rented the property – where three large windows on the side of the house had been smashed following the break-in.

“I believe the furniture and everything in the house was done as well but that’s not confirmed,” Mr O’Connell said.

“Probably five carloads of police arrived,” he said. “Everyone in the area thought there had been a murder.”

He said the broken widows, which were about 12-foot wide, had been temporarily covered.

He added about three to four other neighbours had also called police after hearing a lot of “noise”.
