Explosion ‘nearly blew my ears out’

Police are investigating following reports of an explosion in Cranbourne on Sunday 16 December about 10.15pm.Police attended a Burke Court skate park and found damage to ramps and railing. An unidentified fragment of metal was also located at the scene.

No one was injured and a crime scene has been established. Casey Crime Investigation Unit detectives, as well as the Arson and Explosives Squad attended the scene.

People took to Facebook’s Casey Crime Page saying they heard a “big boom.”

“The house shook like an earthquake and the windows resonated. Its surprising nobodys windows cracked,” Vanessa Daeché said.

Jack Razz said he was washing his car at 7-Eleven in Lyndhurst when the explosion “nearly blew my ears out, it was loud as.”

“We heard it loud and clear at Hillsmeade primary school,” another said.
