A Cranbourne Victorian aged care provider has been chosen as the most outstanding for consistently going above and beyond to apply quality improvements.

Lifeview Residential Care won the prestigious awards as the Excellence Winner of the QIP Chair Diversity Award and Highly Commended recipient of the QIP Chair Community Organisation of the Year Award, at the Australian General Practice Accreditation Limited (AGPAL) and Quality Innovation Performance Limited (QIP) 2018 Excellence Awards.

The awards, handed down at Melbourne’s Grand Hyatt on Friday 18 May, recognised Lifeview’s Rainbow Tick accreditation and reward the commitment that the aged care provider makes to quality improvement within the health care setting.

The awards recognise AGPAL and QIP accredited practices, organisations or services which demonstrate a dedicated approach to patient and consumer services and/or care, and have a clear understanding of related industry standards.

Lifeview chief executive Madeline Gall said, “We are honoured to have been recognised by the AGPAL and QIP Chair and judging panel for the work we are doing in ensuring inclusive care without fear or prejudice.

“Gaining Rainbow Tick accreditation with QIP and making the finals of these awards is entirely due to the dedication, and commitment of staff throughout the organisation,” she said.

Lifefview has developed a training program to assist other organisations to become more inclusive and they regularly undertake consultations with a range of stakeholders and providers to break down barriers, and improve the feeling of empowerment, and in some cases the feeling of unburdened.
