Casey Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance following a robbery in Narre Warren on 19 October.
Investigators have been told a 17-year-old boy had been walking along Maramba Drive near the intersection of Deanswood Way about 7pm when he noticed three males on the opposite side of the road, one of whom was wearing a mask.
It is alleged the masked male, followed by the other two, approached the victim, punching and kicking him to the ground.
He then demanded the victim’s bag.
When the victim refused, it’s alleged one of the other men kicked him to the head.
The victim handed the bag over to the group, who fled along Kendall Avenue.
Police have been told a female passerby who saw the incident chased the group down the street in a vehicle before confronting two of the males, who eventually gave her the bag.
The bag was returned to the victim, however it was missing a small amount of cash and a laptop, which has been described as an Apple MacBook Air with a “Beats by Dre” sticker on the inside.
