Servo robbed after staged threat

By Victoria Stone-meadows

POLICE are on the lookout for a couple of thespian thieves who are believed to have put on a ‘criminal’ performance at a service station in Hampton Park.
The male and female entered the United Service Station on Hallam Road about 10.30pm on Monday 8 August.
Shortly after entering the store, the male offender grabbed the female around the chest and placed a knife to her throat. He then made demands of the attendant on threat of hurting the female.
The attendant handed a small amount of cash and some cigarettes to the pair.
The offenders then left the service station together, and uniformed police, dog squad and detectives were called to the store.
A search was conducted of the nearby area, but police had no luck in finding the thieves.
Police believe the two offenders were known to each other, and anyone with information is urged to contact Casey CIU or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
