Free skills and drills

THE Berwick Indoor Sports Centre will throw open its doors for a free family day on Sunday, 21 September.
The day will run from 10am to 2pm at the Bemersyde Drive facility and feature clinics with elite netballers, basketballers and soccer players.
The netball focus will be from 10am to 11.30 with Melbourne Vixens Karyn Bailey and Jo Weston hosting a clinic from 10.30.
Basketball will follow from 11.30 with two-time NBL championship winner Andrew Parkinson on the court from noon.
Finally, there will be a soccer focus from 1pm until 2pm with Aaron Jones, who was Australian school soccer representative in Brazil.
The day is completely free for everybody of all ages to attend. It will be set up in a relaxed atmosphere where coaches will be doing different skills and drills so participants can move around as they like and try their hand at a range of fun sporting drills and games while also having the opportunity to get feedback from elite level athletes.
There is no need to sign up – those interested can simply turn up on the day.
The family day has been created to give participants of Berwick Indoor Sports Centre and the surrounding community the opportunity to meet, receive feedback from elite athletes and quality coaches, and to learn new skills along with having plenty of fun.
The sports centre runs junior and senior netball, basketball and indoor soccer competitions and are now taking registrations for their upcoming season.
Senior summer competitions begin in the week commencing Monday, 22 September and junior summer competitions begin in the week commencing Monday, 6 October.
