POLICE conducting a booze bus operation on Sunday night caught a man who was allegedly involved in an aggravated burglary in Cranbourne earlier that evening.
Detectives from the Dandenong Criminal Investigation Unit have now charged a 31-year-old man following the incident.
Police were called to a home in Frances Court after a man and a woman reported a break-in around 9.45pm, during which a Holden Astra was allegedly stolen.
Police later observed the car travelling through a booze bus, which had been set up on the Frankston-Cranbourne Road.
Police officers pursued the car, which was found dumped in Black Gum Crescent Cranbourne a short time later. Dog squad members apprehended the driver in a nearby paddock.
An Elwood man was charged with aggravated burglary and theft, and bailed to appear in the Dandenong Magistrates’ Court in March next year.
