LOST and impounded animals in the City of Casey have a new place to call home.
The Lost Dogs’ Home, 920 Thompsons Road, Cranbourne West, is now the provider of pound services in Casey and should be contacted in the first instance should residents’ pets become lost.
City of Casey mayor Shar Balmes said the change was due to an alteration to the council’s pound services.
“Australia’s largest animal shelter, the Lost Dogs’ Home, provides a number of services to residents of Casey, including the important task of reuniting lost animals with their owners,” she said.
“The Lost Dogs’ Home also has a range of animals for adoption, including puppies and kittens, so I encourage residents who are thinking of giving an animal a ‘forever home’ to consider visiting the shelter.”
In conjunction with the Lost Dogs’ Home, the council has developed a lost animals’ database. This database can be accessed by pet owners searching for their lost pet in the hope of being reunited.
The lost animals’ database can be viewed on the council’s website at www.casey.vic.gov.au/lostpets.
