Residents are lost in their own suburbs

SOME residents in Casey are confused about what suburb they live in, a Casey councillor says.
Mayfield Ward councillor Kevin Bradford said some confusion had crept in about the name of housing estates and suburbs.
When it was first released, Botanic Ridge was the name of the new residential estate in Cranbourne South, but was later renamed as its own suburb. Cr Bradford said residents who lived in the estate Cascades on Clyde, which is actually located in Cranbourne East, were uncertain about which suburb they lived in.
Cr Bradford wants Casey council to first approve the naming of new housing estates to avoid this type of confusion.
Council officers will prepare a report on how developers could be required to get approval for estate names.
