THE day before she died, Pam Lindsay felt a million bucks and headed off to bingo.
She had some success, and spent the $10 she won to buy pyjamas for her mum as a Mother’s Day gift. It is a present that her mum, Glenda, says she will cherish forever, as Pam died from liver cancer on Mother’s Day aged 44.
In March, Pam’s nephew Andrew had his head shavedin Cranbourne for his auntieas part of the World’s Greatest Shave event.
Andrew, 15, said he would never forget his auntie, who was diagnosed with cancer in February.
“It’s going to be really hard for a long time. We knew it was coming, but we just didn’t know how soon,” Andrew said.
“I love her and I’ll never forget her.”
Pam’s older sister, Wendy Dyson, said she didn’t have one bad thing to say about her sister, who had moved in with her family at Narre Warren South.
“She was the best in the world. She treated my children as hers,” Ms Dyson said.
“I’ll be lost without her.”
Ms Dyson said her sister was excited about her win at bingo when she came home.
“She said to me in the morning, Wendy I feel so good … I’m going to bingo today.”
Ms Dyson said her sister always put everyone else first, and said she would miss her greatly.
“We always did everything together. Pam and I were so close.”
