LIFE-SIZE chess and snakes and ladders were Hampton Park Primary School’s creative way of celebrating National Literacy and Numeracy Week.
The students enjoyed learning English and maths skills through playing games at the school’s Games Day last week.
Games were played in the classroom as well as outside on the school’s new life-size chess and checker boards.
At lunchtime the students played a knockout chess tournament.
The preps enjoyed their day participating in reading activities with their older buddy grades as well as learning how to play a large-scale version of Snakes and Ladders.
These kids are game to learn
