Man hit in head in car park clash

AN elderly Hampton Park man was struck in the head outside the Hampton Park Market Shopping Centre after a road rage incident last week.
The 77-year-old man had attempted to park his car in a parking bay at the shopping centre last Friday when another man trying to park in the same spot became verbally abusive.
Both men then moved and parked elsewhere.
Police said the offender waited outside for the man while he did his shopping, then verbally abused him in the car park.
The elderly man tried to get past, but the offender hit him in the head before running off.
The incident happened about 4.30pm and was witnessed by a shopping centre security guard.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Senior Constable Graham Stanley at Endeavour Hills Police Station on 9709 7666.
