TOORADIN Primary School students showed what they were made of in their school athletics competition.
The sun shined down on the children on Friday as they competed to take out the school’s coveted prize – the sprint championships.
The day took off with the infant and senior groups first competing in tabloid formation in five different events.
They then came together for the sprint heats and championships.
Physical education coordinator Lisa Stirling said it had been a fantastic day and one that the kids had been looking forward to for a long time.
It was the third in the year’s series of school championships after swimming and cross country running.
Ryan Eaton took out the grade five-six boys sprint championship, Taneesha Webb won five-six girls, Nicholas Simpson topped the grade three-four boys and Caitlyn Andrews won the three-four girls championship.
They will be presented with their prizes in an award ceremony at the school on 14 December.
Ms Stirling said the students would also be part of a selection process for the district event next year after the district pulled out of the athletics competition this year.
All of the younger children received ribbons.
