U3A welcomes new course coordinator

By Alison Noonan
CRANBOURNE U3A will kick off for the year at its first open meeting on Friday.
President Bev Wood said the group was pleased to be able to offer a wider selection of classes in 2006, with enrolments to be taken at the meeting.
She welcomed the U3A’s new course coordinator Pam BankesFay, who volunteered to take on the timeconsuming role.
“As well as the activities last year, we have quite a lot more on offer this year thanks to a number of volunteers,” Mrs Wood said.
“Pam will now be able to book classes and we are very grateful to her for volunteering for this job.”
Mrs Wood said the group was excited to open its new office in Cranbourne, located in the Old Shire Offices on Sladen Street.
The office will be open between 10am and 3pm Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from the beginning of February.
“Applications for membership and lists of activities will be available at the office.
“Membership costs $35 a year. All classes are free of charge and people can join as many as they like.
“We are looking forward to a great year in 2006,” Mrs Wood said.
All activities start in February with the open meeting to be held at 1pm on Friday 27 January at the scout hall, Finsbury Road, Devon Meadows.
