Stuck in the mud rescue

TWO men were stuck in mudflats at Blind Bight for six hours without water and in intense heat on Saturday while they waited for rescue crews.
The two Berwick men, aged 40 and 45, set off from Warneet Jetty in a small inflatable craft south along the channel.
Police said the tide and current swept the craft around to the Blind Bight channel about 300 metres from the end of the Blind Bight Jetty.
The men were stranded without water when the craft became trapped in the mudflats.
Police said police helicopter Air 490 had to rescue the men, winching them to safety.
The men were finally rescued after six hours of being stranded at 5pm on Saturday.
Police said neither man was injured in the incident.
Police urged people who might find themselves in such a situation not to attempt to walk back to land over the mudflats, which can act similar to quicksand, trapping the person in the mud.
