ANOTHER young Cranbourne family has been devastated by fire, just days after the blaze that destroyed the Dyball home.
Timotei Petrovai, partner Heidie Oliver and two-year-old son Antonio were lucky to escape after fire broke out in their Miralie Way home in Cranbourne West about 1.24am last Thursday.
Mr Petrovai evacuated the family after smoke detectors alerted him to the blaze, which is believed to have been caused by an electrical fault.
A passer-by helped smash a window to save a pet dog that was trapped inside.
Cranbourne Fire Officer Jim Dore said the house was well alight when crews from Cranbourne, Hallam, Hampton Park and Narre Warren arrived.
He said 90 per cent of the house was destroyed, with damage estimated at $250,000.
