Kids on a health kick

TOORADIN Primary School students are going for their lives.
The kids have been regularly participating in a range of physical and sport education activities that promote longer and healthier life as part of the Go For Your Life program.
Prep teacher Rachel Davis said the preps now looked forward to their twice a week perceptual motor program activities which developed and extended skills in balance, strength, movement and memory.
“To the children these are fun and challenging activities and these skills support their classroom learning and they are developing confidence in their abilities,” Ms Davis said.
The school’s more senior students have been participating in the challenge of constructing and operating the school pushcart and human powered vehicles (HPV).
The grades three to six children have already enjoyed the competition in recent HPV events.
Ms Davis said they were thrilled to be able to compete with children from other schools across the state.
