Witnesses sought after robberies

POLICE are desperately seeking witnesses after two armed robberies at a Hampton Park service station in the space of a month.
The United Service Station on Hallam Road was robbed for the second time on Monday morning.
Detective Senior Constable Mark Sims from the Frankston Embona taskforce said two men, both armed with knives, entered the service station about 3.20am.
They stole cash and cigarettes before fleeing on foot.
They were described as Caucasian in their 20s, one wearing a black top and balaclava and the other a grey top and balaclava.
On 15 November, two men with their faces covered entered the United Service Station about 4.15am.
Police said they proceeded straight to the service desk and one of the men produced a large black-handled butcher’s knife with a curved blade from behind his back.
They then threatened the 21-year-old attendant and stole cash and cigarettes.
They ran off in an easterly direction along Coral Drive.
Det Sen Const Sims said police believed the two robberies were connected and that the offenders live in the area.
He said they also believed the armed robberies might have been connected to a robbery at the Mobil Service Station on Pound Road.
“The robberies are becoming very concerning,” he said.
“Anyone who might have seen someone suspicious in the area at that time please contact police.”
Anyone with information should contact Frankston Embona on 9784 5543 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
