Vandals hit for sale house

A CRANBOURNE house set for sale will sit on the market a little longer after vandals caused extensive damage throughout the property recently.
Police said access to the Providence Drive house was gained between 12.15am and 1am after a rear toilet window was smashed and unlocked from the inside.
Once inside the newly built property the vandals punched several holes in the plaster walls in one of the bedrooms and the garage.
Carpet was damaged in the house and graffiti was also scrawled on several of the walls.
Police said a group of teenagers were seen near the property at the time of the burglary.
The incident comes only a week after police issued a stern warning on thieves and vandals preying on the numerous housing developments in Cranbourne and surrounding suburbs.
Senior Sergeant Bernie Kaminski said police would be increasing their patrols in the new housing estate areas and will be targeting similar offences.
“We will also be conducting plain clothes patrols with unmarked cars,” Sen Sgt Kaminski said.
