Grandparents without grandchildren and children without grandparents have had a chance to connect and share knowledge thanks to a new program organised by the City of Casey.
The intergenerational Bridging the Gap program brings young and old together to share stories, knowledge and experiences for those that may not have the opportunity to do so.
Casey Council’s Home and Community Care clients had the chance to connect with students from Fleetwood Kindergarten for the program.
The program was deemed so successful by parents, council and teachers that it has been extended beyond a pilot program and will be a permanent fixture for community connections within Casey.
Cranbourne Library has been chosen as an exhibition building to display artworks and photographs created by the children and seniors during the program.
The exhibition opened on 20 December 2016 and will run until Saturday 28 January 2017.
