Lost Dogs Home hosts cat day

The cat adoption day will take place on Saturday 30 July from 10am to 4pm at the Lost Dogs Home in Cranbourne West.

THE Lost Dogs Home’s mobile pet care unit is heading to Cranbourne for its first-ever pop-up cat adoption day.
The event will take place on Saturday 30 July from 10am to 4pm at the Lost Dogs Home in Cranbourne West.
The mobile pet care unit, MADI (Microchipping, Adoption, Desexing, Information), will house a number of cats and kittens looking for new homes.
Adoption fees will be halved on the day, bringing the adoption fee for an adult cat down to $47.50 and a kitten (less than six months old) down to $90. All cats and kittens are desexed, microchipped and vaccinated, which is included in the adoption fee.
“MADI is a fantastic outreach tool, allowing us to get out into the community and make a real impact where it’s needed most,” said Dr David Cunliffe, General Manager, Animal Welfare, at the home.
“MADI has been a tremendous success with mobile desexing events. The unit’s versatility means it’s also perfectly suited as a mobile pet adoption centre.
“There are currently around 100 cats and kittens up for adoption at the home. We want to help them find loving new families, and show the community why adoption is the best option.”
