THE Rotary Club of Cranbourne has raised and delivered more than $10,000 for the Touched by Olivia Foundation which designs and builds play spaces for children with and without a disability.
Majority of the funds were raised through the club’s annual golf day and Rotary Cranbourne committee member John Cotter said it was an outstanding finish for a fantastic cause.
“It was the best result we’ve had in the last five years, and for such a worthwhile organisation for all children to be able to play together,” Mr Cotter said.
There were 104 golfers on the green at the Ranfurlie Golf Course on Friday 20, and Mr Cotter said the entire Rotary club and many friends and sponsors came together to make the day.
“We had 26 teams playing 18 holes for our 49th golf day,” he said.
It was the club’s first year raising money for the all abilities foundation which is something close to their hearts.
“We helped a local mum modify her car so she could transport her child who had a disability around easily and she was the one who first told us about the Touched by Olivia Foundation,” he said.
