THREE budding actors are calling on the community to help them achieve their dream of landing their television show on a major network.
Cranbourne best friends Paul Morello, Lewy Alphonso and Andrew Saliba have kicked off a crowd-funding campaign to try and raise enough money to film their show Pre-Adult Post-Teen with high-end production values.
The boys managed to get a six-part series of the show on Channel 31 in 2012, but now have dreams to create a high-end pilot to pitch to bigger networks.
“Our main goal for our fund-raiser is raise the quality of the show to a level that is good enough for a pitch to Foxtel networks, SBS and ABC,” Paul said.
“Following our six-part series on Channel 31 we sought help from professionals in the industry such as production companies to take the show to a network television standard.
“We are now working with the team at MMTH Visual and this has been just what we needed to improve the quality of the show.
“We are looking for support and donations to help us reach our goal of $10,000.
“This will allow us to get all the necessary equipment, cast the right people, find great locations and of course a buffet!”
Pre-Adult Post-Teen follows three guys, played by Paul, Lewy and Andrew, in the transitional period from being a teenager to becoming an adult.
They are trying to find their way in the real world, but in the meantime all they do is party, drink and fail with the ladies.
The show explores the cultural landscape of the average 18 to 25-year-old living in the inner suburbs and the conversations and relationships that are going on in society.
The men have urged the community to get behind them and have come up with a number of fun ways to raise the money they need.
People get something in return for each donation – whether it is the enjoyment of watching the boys complete a dare or merchandise and goodies.
These include: for $200 Paul will stage a marriage proposal in a packed restaurant where he gets rejected, for $450 Andrew will get a tattoo on his bum and for $35 donors receive a poster and personalised poem.
