Wish granted

ZOE Bear’s ultimate wish came true when she visited the Australia Zoo in April with her family.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation granted a wish to Zoe, who has cystic fibrosis, after her mother put in an application to the charity and her specialist agreed that Zoe was eligible.
Five-year-old Zoe, from Sandhurst, is an animal lover and her wish was to visit the Australia Zoo and play with the animals said her mother, Danielle Bear.
When interviewed by the foundation Zoe said she wanted to visit the Bindi Irwin Zoo (Australia Zoo) and Make-A-Wish Australia made her dream come true.
The family of seven flew to Queensland on 8 April during the school holidays. The trip included spending some time with Zoe’s grandfather who lives in Queensland.
Ms Bear said this made the visit even more amazing. “We can’t do much travelling with five children.”
“We had an absolutely fabulous time,” Ms Bear said. “It was really a wish for all of us.”
The Make-A-Wish Foundation paid for the flights, accommodation, car hire, entry fees, petrol and food for the whole family. “The only thing we paid for was Dreamworld,” she said.
Ms Bear and her partner of two years, Chris, have five children between them – Dylan, 11, who has cerebral palsy, Blair, 8, Georgia, 8, Zoe, 5, and Deacon, 4.
“I came into the relationship with the girls, Chris came with the boys,” said Ms Bear.
Ms Bear runs a remedial massage therapy business, and having cystic fibrosis in the family led to her career choice. Zoe requires daily physiotherapy and massage sessions to keep her health at its best.
“When Zoe was born, I made a conscious decision to keep her healthy as much as possible, for as long as possible.”
